Simoldes is a Portuguese mould maker company headquartered in Oliveira de Azeméis and is the Europe's largest mould maker. Simoldes Group Mould Division supplies plastic injection moulds for the automotive industry.

We were approached by the Vice-President to create a connective digital strategy for the paperless and processes' efficiency program within the group.

Procimo has developed, among simpler solutions, an innovative digital platform that allows industrial assets to be tracked indoors. This system has already been implemented in 10 factories and is planned to be deployed in more units within the Simoldes's group.

The system is composed by three major components: the hardware, the backend and the front-end.

The hardware

Procimo's in-house dev team has been developing, for the past 3 years, an accurate LPS (local positioning system) for noisy indoor environments and outdoor continuous position tracking. This technology comprises BLE, GPS/GNSS with RTK (with EGNOS by ESA) and UWB, allowing for an upmost precision of 2 to 3 cm (1,18 inches). With our core tech, full of nerdy acronyms, we're able to track anything anywhere!

The backend

We've also developed a core system that is responsible to read and process, big data style, all the positions obtained from all the trackers that are being used in the world. This service, allows for a modular configuration of the systems in place, being able to tweak every single metric and insight needed for any application.

The front-end

Where the client sees and controls all data. This is where Procimo has applied its expertise in interviewing the stakeholder, curating the UX/UI for a simple and sleek experience (a welcoming fresh approach for an industrial-grade software), being able to create, setup and edit any factory unit, as well as register new assets to be tracked, new tracker devices and even create automation systems in a simple semantic way like "If this then that".

Deliverables
